Inside the Club - May 2026
May was all about impact, connection, and community. From celebrating our Teen Innovation Center Grand Opening to cheering on a successful flag football season, our Club Kids continue to thrive. Through our partnership with Feeding America, we’re tackling food insecurity—serving 1.7 million meals and snacks in 2025 alone—while supporting families with consistent, nutritious resources. As we head into summer, join us for exciting opportunities like Summer Camp, Family Dinner, and our Virtual Poker Tournament. Together, you make it all possible. As we welcome May, we want to take a moment to celebrate our April accomplishments.

Feeding America
Community Partner Highlight
Right now, 1 in 10 residents in the Inland Empire struggle to access food while 1 in 7 children don’t know where their next meal will come from.
Food insecurity and inaccessibility affect one of the nation’s fastest growing regions. It disrupts learning, impacts emotional well-being, and stunts growth — studies show hunger affects a child’s concentration, and they are twice as likely to battle anxiety.
That’s where the Family Strengthening Program steps in, providing a consistent, reliable source of support for families navigating difficult situations. Through food distribution, we help relieve the pressure by providing nutritious grocery bags replete with fresh produce, dairy, and snacks.
This work could not be done without the strong partnership and steady support of organizations like Feeding America Riverside, San Bernardino, an organization that aims to alleviate hunger across the Inland Empire. Through our 5-year partnership, we’ve been building systems that deliver food efficiently and consistently, like our Family Dinners and Snack Packs.
“Nonprofits, like the Boys and Girls Club, serve as a direct access point for families, so by partnering together, we can meet families where they are and ensure food reaches those who need it most, in a consistent and dignified way,” said Vanesa Rangel-Mercado, Feeding America’s Partner Relations Director.
In 2025, we served 1.7 million meals and snacks.
Each week, Feeding America’s sourcing team works behind the scenes to secure donations and partnerships from grocery stores, distribution centers, and other partners to ensure that nonprofits like ours are filling plates and futures with opportunity.
“These families just need an extra meal or 2 during the week because they were cut hours at work,” Vanesa said. “Reoccurring, consistent year-round programs are critical to those families or individuals that are in need, and that shows up in many ways, not just by being transient or unhoused.”
Together we are bridging the gap and not only providing food, but stability and opportunity for families across the Inland Empire.
