Celebrated annually in October, International Day of the Girl shines a light on the strength, potential, and leadership of girls while addressing the barriers that can limit their access to education, opportunity, and equity.
Our mentorship event will connect girls with local influential women from across industries. Through meaningful conversations, mentorship, confidence-building activities, and exposure to diverse career pathways, girls will see what is possible, and begin to envision themselves achieving it.
Investing in girls is an investment in our entire community. The confidence, skills, and relationships built today can shape tomorrow's leaders, professionals, families, and community advocates. Together, we can break down barriers, broaden possibilities, and help every girl discover that her future is full of potential.

Kendall Reusing
Kendall Reusing is an eight-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, co-owner of four Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu academies, sports broadcaster, entrepreneur, and host of the Get A Grip podcast. Beyond competition, she has built a career around storytelling, leadership, and mentorship—working as a commentator and on-camera personality while coaching athletes and helping young people build confidence, discipline, and resilience. Through her businesses, digital platforms, and Jiu-Jitsu Accelerator mentorship program, Kendall shares lessons from a lifetime of pursuing excellence at the highest level. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, take ownership of their lives, and recognize what they’re capable of.
Aracely Muñoz
Aracely Muñoz is a Freelance Illustrator and Graphic Designer based in Southern California. She specializes in vector artwork, creating work for clients in the entertainment industry. Clients include Netflix, Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Lionsgate, LucasFilms, Warner Bros., 20th Century Studios, Bethesda, Dolby Cinema, and more. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Illustration and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Marketing. Her work has been exhibited in multiple galleries, given workshops at different universities, and continues to attend events as a speaker/panelist
Stephanie Standerfer
Stephanie Standerfer is the Vice President and Director of WEBB’s Environmental Services Department. She has over 25 years of experience as an environmental professional, specializing in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance for public and private clients. Her expertise reflects the dynamic and interdisciplinary nature of CEQA, and she serves as the Principal in Charge of the department, overseeing workload management, project progress, and staff development.
A proud University of California, Riverside alumna, Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Washington State University. Stephanie has worked primarily in Inland Southern California, representing a wide range of clients including transportation agencies, healthcare providers, resource conservation districts, community college districts, local agency formation commissions, infrastructure districts, cities, counties, and private developers. Her diverse project experience enables her to anticipate and navigate challenges that arise during CEQA compliance. She regularly leads coordination among large teams of environmental planners, engineers, and agency staff, and actively guides clients through the complexities of environmental compliance.
Judge Sophia Choi
Sophia Choi is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California, currently assigned to the Historic Courthouse-Civil Calendar and Trials, presiding over law and motion, court and jury trials, and various other matters. Before joining the bench, Choi was a practicing attorney for 18 years, in both the civil and criminal law. She served as a senior deputy district attorney in the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. Sophia UCLA alumna and is heavily involved in my legal community and in her Korean American community.
Bansree Parikh
Bansree Parikh is the Market Executive for J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Banking group in the Inland Empire, leading a team that delivers the firm’s full capabilities to companies with $20 million to $2 billion in revenue. With nearly 30 years of banking experience in Southern California, she joined J.P. Morgan in 2025 to drive commercial banking growth across the Inland Empire. Deeply passionate about the success of the Mighty IE, she chairs Inland Empire Economic Partnership’s Economic Competitiveness Committee and serves as First Vice Chair. She served as a UCR School of Business Executive Fellow in 2023–2024, and continues to engage with the student community. Bansree is a proud advocate and resident of the Inland Empire for 25 years, where she and her husband have raised their family.

Senator Sabrina Cervantes
Senator Sabrina Cervantes was elected to the California Legislature in 2016, making history as the youngest lawmaker elected at the time and ushering in a new generation of leadership for the Inland Empire. In 2024, she was elected to the California State Senate to represent the 31st District, serving communities across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Senator Cervantes currently serves as Chair of the California Senate Committee on Appropriations, one of the Legislature’s most influential fiscal leadership positions. She previously served as Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, becoming the first representative from the Inland Empire to lead the Caucus in its more than 50-year history, and now serves as Vice-Chair of the LGBTQ+ Caucus.
A lifelong Riverside County resident, Senator Cervantes is a working mother of triplets and a proud graduate of the University of California, Riverside, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She also completed an executive education studies program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
For one special day, we’re flipping the name to put the spotlight where it belongs: on girls! In celebration of International Day of the Girl, we’re proudly becoming the Girls & Boys Clubs for the day.
It’s a fun way to make a big statement: girls belong, girls lead, and girls have the power to shape our future. Because when we invest in girls, we strengthen our entire community.
