International Day of the Girl
Celebrated annually in October, International Day of the Girl shines a light on the strength, potential, and leadership of girls while addressing the barriers that can limit their access to education, opportunity, and equity.
Our mentorship event will connect girls with local influential women from across industries. Through meaningful conversations, mentorship, confidence-building activities, and exposure to diverse career pathways, girls will see what is possible, and begin to envision themselves achieving it.
Investing in girls is an investment in our entire community. The confidence, skills, and relationships built today can shape tomorrow's leaders, professionals, families, and community advocates. Together, we can break down barriers, broaden possibilities, and help every girl discover that her future is full of potential.

Judge Sophia Choi
International Day of the Girl Panel
Sophia Choi is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California, currently assigned to the Historic Courthouse-Civil Calendar and Trials, presiding over law and motion, court and jury trials, and various other matters. Before joining the bench, Choi was a practicing attorney for 18 years, in both the civil and criminal law. She served as a senior deputy district attorney in the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. Sophia UCLA alumna and is heavily involved in my legal community and in her Korean American community.
For one special day, we’re flipping the name to put the spotlight where it belongs: on girls! In celebration of International Day of the Girl, we’re proudly becoming the Girls & Boys Clubs for the day.
It’s a fun way to make a big statement: girls belong, girls lead, and girls have the power to shape our future. Because when we invest in girls, we strengthen our entire community.
